I just replaced my driver side window motor assembly and it appeared that the first owner epoxyed the braket holding the tube that holds the worm gear track in place. If this bracket breaks, the worm gear assembly will push itself out of the track and a bunch of noise will be heard. It will loop itself into an S-shape and fail to feed into the track properly. You can remove the assembly and have it repaired with small welding. I had my old one repaired just to see if it was possible. The original motor assembly was not the best design so now the new ones are much better and probably last a life-time or at least until I pass on fourty years from now.
