Re: Porsche tranny questions

Ski,

The Porsche ZF4HP22HL and ZF4HP22E are both Tiptronic automatic
4-speed transmissions, with and without computers, respectively.

The Porsche ZF4HP22 series transmissions were used in 911 series
cars, except for some of the 911 C4 all wheel drive cars.

Although most Porsche manual transmissions are designed for use
with stock HP outputs of 450 HP or more, it is probably best not
to push a stock, pre-1994 Porsche Tiptronic transmission beyond
the 300 HP range.

The 993-based, 5-speed Porsche Tiptronic transmission is a whole
other story and can handle well over 400 HP.

Later,
Rich W.
