For the last month, the interior of my D has reeked of gasoline, a smell which goes away soon after I start driving. I've spent a few hours looking for the leak--replacing the sender seal, checking all the hose clamps, etc. It turns out to be a leaky fuel return line. It's the front metal line, the one that runs forward from the accumulator to the hose that attaches to the fuel pump. It's leaking right where the metal line turns into a hexagonal fitting, right before it connects to the hose. It might be leaking towards the other end, too--I can't tell. How do I go about replacing this metal line? Is this something an amateur mechanic can do, without taking the entire car apart? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Aaron #1506
