After seeing the auction, I went back through the records we have from the original DMC, which happen to include the original Purchase Orders from the original supplier of both the luggage racks and ski rack adapters. There were two purchase orders for 100 each of ski rack adapters, and only 150 are shown to have been received as of 12/2/81. We have maybe one or two here at the warehouse that are not for sale at this time. There was one purchase order for 1000 luggage racks, and only 849 were received as of 12/2/81. There are less than 10% of that number left. It's possible that more may have been received after that time, though given the finances of the company after that time, I would say it's unlikely. >>From the research I have done, the original manufacturer went out of business a few years ago.
