That > way if you have any problems under there you can correct then without > undoing a lot of work. > I'll second that. when i did my master water pump kit last winter, i had a pressure tester on hand and was able to find about 6 or 7 small leaks, even in places that are nowhere near the water pump - including the silicone hoses behind the pump. i'd sure hate to put it all back together only to find a hose clamp wasn't tight enough.
