A/C Panel lights

Does anyone have clear step-by-step instructions on how to make the A/C
panel lights work with the rheostat for the instrument cluster lights?
I have the wire that makes them only come on with the headlights but it
would be great to be able to make them bright or dim in sync with the
cluster.
