The filler neck at the top opening is made out of three different pieces (poorly) tack welded together. Recently the venturi "style" piece with the little flapper door in it broke off of mine and fell down into the tank. This part breaks, obviously, from bearing the entire weight of the gas pump nozzle and hose when fueling. As we all know the pump nozzle sits straight up when fueling and the filler neck has to bear the weight. In leu of spending $55+ dollars from the specialty shops for this tiny part I decided to re-weld it myself with the mig. It's NOT an easy part to weld and requires delicate grinding when finished to look good but it was worth it to me. I've posted photos of the job in the FILES section of the DML yahoo groups entitled: DeLorean - Filler Neck Components.doc http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews/files/DeLorean%20-%20Filler% 20neck%20Components.doc Chris #3876
