how do you fix cracks in lower engine cover?

I have one crack in my lower engine cover and one bolt is broken off 
the hinge.How can you fix this crack,can you use bondo or
some type fiberglass.Does anybody know how to remove the hinge from 
the car? Any help would be appreciated very much.
