Erik - I don't know how you are progressing with your problem, but I thought that I would share an experience that I had with Winged1. I had done a complete tune-up with all new parts (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and replaced the air filter element with a K&N unit), and had about 500 trouble-free miles on the parts. Suddenly, I developed a miss at certain RPM's, and a rough idle. My gas mileage dropped off appreciably. Naturally, this all started to unravel in the middle of a long-distance rally with the PNDC. Power was way down, which is a bad thing for me. To make a long story a little shorter, one of the plug wires had somehow come unplugged from the cap, and was just sitting there, making an arcing contact occasionally. I plugged the wire in firmly, and all symptoms ceased. Of course, this required removal of the intake to get to the distributor to refit the wire, but I don't think that the intake had anything to do with the problem.
