Yes; the gauges could be more attractive for a car like the DeLorean. On the other hand the gauges, including the instrument cluster, were manufactured by AC Delco and are quite reliable and accurate. Most of the gauge problems are related to the sending units and not the gauges themselves. The fuel, temperature, voltage, tach and oil units have a less than 10% failure rate @ 100 k miles and the speedo has a 0% failure rate at the same mileage.
