Regarding the grease discussion (and I swear this is the only thing I'll say about it): IIRC, the clear stuff Les mentioned that comes with CPU heat sinks is that modern marvel, silicone. It is therefore common and affordable! Great lubricant and hard to get off of whatever you put it on. (But since you never want to ... *grin*) The usual precautions apply: make sure surfaces are clean before you apply it, of course, using denatured alcohol or the like. Three posts in as many days?
