You are correct that at one time DMC Houston and Delorean One in Ca. were affiliated. That now is no longer the case, they are separate entities. DMC Houston is the largest Dealer in Delorean parts and services having aquired the inventory from Consolidated Industries which was what was left after DMC went bankrupt. I leave it up to James Espey to further clarify this for you and why they can sell a rebuilt Delorean for $30,00 when D1 want $60,000. Your choice for the center to refurbish a car is affected by many things including reputation, recomendations, price, location, and selection among other things. I don't have first-hand knowledge of either center's rebuilt cars but everybody has their own definition of what "refurbished" means from a cleaning and detailing to a complete overhaul or replacement of all wearable parts and mechanicals. Compare warranties. This can give you an indication of how much they trust their work and how they will honour the warranty especially if you are not close by. You could also comparison shop. There are 2 other shops that can get you a car. One is in California and the other is in Long Island, NY. If I were you and had $30,000 to spend I would go to E-Bay and buy #502 for $20,000 and have it gone over. That is a car that will appreciate in value AND be a blast to drive!
