In the UK/Ireland, flashing lights usually means "you first" or equivalent - ie an "okay by me" signal. If someone pulls out in front of me, I too give a long high-beam "glare". You can also flash to say "thanks" but it winds me up when people do this in the dark because it blinds the person you're thanking! What I do is switch off and switch on dipped beam, though it's difficult to do in the DeLorean. Both my citroens' headlight switches are rotary knobs on the tip of the indicator stalk, making a quick off/on very easy. In France, and on the continent, flashing means "me first", and in Egypt, they don't use headlights at all except by flashing to say "i'm heading towards you" from a distance, otherwise only using sidelights. It's a very strange experience being in a car in egypt at night! Martin #1458 Jan van de Wouw wrote: > --- In dmcnews, Robert wrote: > > Hmm, that's odd.
