Krylon semi-flat black paint is the right color and Krylon does indeed make excellent paints. As an alternate, try Rustoleum Satin Black. It used to be called semi-flat black and is the right color also. Goes on a little smoother and besides spray cans comes in pints and quarts cans so that you can brush it on. You can thin it if necessary and sort of "flow" it into place with a small brush. Preparation is the same as for Krylon or other, I use lacquer thinner in most cases.
