Although I'm not all that knowledgeable about the automatic transmission used in the DeLorean it seems as if that your transmission is probably slipping when the weather is very cold. It is conceivable that the fliud is low, or perhaps the wrong type. Unfortunately some other possibilities are worn clutches / bands or the control valving.
