I've noticed that over the last couple months, my car will idle at different speeds. Sometimes tapping the gas pedal works, other times it doesn't. Some days I'll just be sitting at a red light, idling at 2000, and then it slowly drops down to 900 (normal on my car). This morning it just got too rediculus. I came off the highway and I was idling at 3500 RPM. I ended up shutting the car off, and starting it again. When I got to work I found that the throttle spool (next to the water pump) is sticking. I'm guessing that some WD-40 will take care of that. You might want to check that out. I simply turned the spool counter clockwise and the idle dropped right down to 900. Maybe the spool just got dirtied up at the tranny shop. -Christian On Thu, 9 Aug 2001 Soma576@xxxx wrote: > hello, > > i'm back again with ANOTHER problem! > i've noticed that ever since i got my car back from the tranny shop (got a > new clutch and slave cylinder) my RPM's when i push in the clutch are VERY > high, like around 3K, no matter what gear i'm coming out of. then i can tap > the accelerator and it will drop down to about 2K. is this right? i don't > remember it being like this before! it's kind of annoying and probably not > good on the gas milage! > > Andy > > Soma576@xxxx > 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 VIN#11596 > Fargo, ND 58102 > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > Before posting messages or replies, see the posting policy rules at: > www.dmcnews.com/Admin/rules.html > > To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: > moderator@xxxx > > Your use of Yahoo!
