Lately my accelerator pedal has been very stiff. I have traced this to the cable. Most of the time I have to push the pedal down fairly far before the cable will get unstuck and move the throttle. However this is very bad because then it then surges extremely suddenly and if I don't hold the clutch in it sends a powerful jolt of power to the tranny. I can't believe that's good for the car so I am very careful in how I push the pedal down and handle the clutch. Of course this makes it really hard to drive (daily) and it's extra work on the clutch. So, my question is how do I lubricate the cable? I'm worried about pulling the cable out of the sleeve because of the U turn it takes in the footwell. I'm worried that I won't be able to feed it back in if I have it out. Any suggestions?
