Before going through all of the labor involved in removing the alternator I think it would be wiser to follow the troubleshooting suggestions from David Teitelbaum. As David mentioned there are several common sources for low voltage readings especially in the area of "grounds". PS: If your DeLorean was previously equiped with a Ducellier alternator make sure you have connected the D+ connection properly.
