Instead of creating a "Newbie" manual I think they should first of all get the Workshop and Parts manuals at least. Even if they themselves don't understand all of it at least they can refer to it and have their mechanic use it to familiarize himself with the car. The manuals also have some of the simple safety hints and many troubleshooting tips that can answer many of the simple questions that appear on the list from time to time. The manuals won't make anyone a mechanic but they will make an owner more knowledgeable about their car. It should be one of the first things they order when they first get their car and then place the first order for parts. Creating a "Dummies" manual for the Delorean is a major undertaking and there will be no reward for the many hours of effort that will be required. By looking through the archives and talking to other owners new owners will quickly come "up to speed". I also recomend that new owners join a local group if available and go to meet other owners and venders. In 5 minuetes of looking at a car an experienced mechanic can see things that an ordinary mechanic wouldn't even notice and it is not easy trying to help people by remote control. Nothing takes the place of hearing and seeing for yourself.
