Mine is doing something very similar, although it started out of nowhere. If you lock the driver side, the passenger will move, but not enough to lock. If you try to lock it manually, or with the key, it immediately kicks back into the unlocked position, if you can get it to move at all. But the drivers side will lock and unlock perfectly fine, completely independent of the passengers. I would love an answer to this one too, it's quite frustrating.
