My bad - I set it that way to see what happened. Its a toss-up between "will it scare people away?" or "get them to sign up?". I'll probably leave it this way to see who complains (you're #1) and then switch it back. Downside to leaving it open is potential for spam harvesting, although its a very slight inhibitor.
