Re: Engine Problems

If you can get the engine to run at all I think you will find that the
problem is in the lambda circuit and the frequency valve. When the
engine is running you should hear a loud buzzing like an angry cricket
comming from the right side valve cover. If you do not, check for
power in the lambda circuit-lambda relay. Replace the origional fuel
distributer, the one you put on is WAY out of calibration. You need to
adjust the mixture screw if you want it to run the car and you need an
emmision anylizer to do it right. Change the oil after about 1000
miles and replace the spark plugs and wires. Flush the brakes with
Castrol dot 4 GTLMA brake fluid, change the anti freeze, trans oil,
final drive oil, wash out the windscreen washer bottle, make sure the
drains in the heater are clear. Inspect the c-v boots, lube the
parking brake cables and speedo cables. Test the cooling system for
leaks it should hold 15 psi for 15 min, I would probably replace all
of the hoses. It is a lot of work to wake up a "D" that has been
hibernating but if you don't do all of the work now you will find
yourself doing it later.
