This is definately the way to go. Rent a car trailer. Stay away from the 
dollys if at all possible. A trailer is much safer for your car and better 
to have all the wheels off the ground especially when buying a car you have 
never driven. I too rented a U haul trailer when I bought my car. Towed it 
from Michigan to NJ in one day. The U haul trailer works great. It has 
surge brakes and puts no strain on the tow vehicle. Hope this helps
