In such case you can can put the pdf (or whatever) online but also order a printed version of it. These companies then print the document and make a nice book of it and send it to whoever buys it. You can get pretty good quality manuals for around $60 or something. www.ondemandmanuals.com is such a website if you are interested... There isn't much of a profit for whomever makes the manual.....
