Applies to any car, not just DeLoreans. To put it in racing terms, understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car (i.e. you turn the wheels and it goes straight anyway) Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car (i.e. the back end breaks loose and comes around in front of the front end).
