I own 3 Hondas, and my 1991 Honda has had this problem NUMEROUS times. Plan on sinking some money, as it sounds like the tranny may have to be rebuilt. Checking a tranny 's fluid level is crucial to auto trans. survival. I now know this due to 7 rebuilds on my 91, and no, i'm not kidding. Fluid tends to leak in weird ways in it. You can check it in the morning, and by mid day, it was like, empty. Take your Delorean to a certified DELOREAN mechanic, because nobody should touch it without factory certification. The bonehead who did my honda wasn't very "certified" or professional. Much luck to you!

Hello,in
Lets start off with what happened, I was on way to the grocery store
my Delorean. Ok, I made a turn and went straight, all of a sudden I lookedat
my rear view mirror and my car was smoking heavily in the rear. Iimmediately
pulled over and got out of the car. I don't know if it was coming fromunder
the car or the engine itself, but it was really smoking. I assumed theengine
parkinggot too hot, but the temp was only at half way. I waited until my car got cooled off, and started it up again. I pulled into the grocery store
lot and all of a sudden my car wouldn't move, I pushed the gas, andnothing,
I kept pressing the gas, and nothing moved. Luckily I had enough momentumto
get in a parking spot. I waited for the engine to cool some more, afterthat
happened,I started the engine again and tried to put the car in reverse and park straight because I didnt park it right, I dropped it into reverse and it started going (I have an automatic trans), when I pushed the gas, it would go, I put it into drive to straighten and pushed the gas,...nothing
its like I had it in neutral or something, I press the gas on drive andonly
the RPMs go up. I tried putting it in "1" and "2" and nothing. I had topush
it into the spot, and I had my friend help me tow it back, (he has atruck).
Anyone know what happened?
