David, Didn't you have the distributor out. If so you need to re establish TDC with #1 cyl piston at the top and re stab the distributor two #1. If not then loosen the bolt that holds down the distributor and turn it a few degrees either way. When it trys to start then you know your going the right way. If you run out of turning, due to plug wires. Then it's a re stab. It's just out of sink with TDC or so far to out of alignment. John
