As a manufacturer of automobiles DMC was required to isssue a 
certificate of origion for each car made unless built for testing, 
certification or prototyping. Also each car that was built was then 
financed to a bank for working capital so there should have been a 
large paper trail. I think also they would have to keep a tally for 
the D.O.T. and the E.P.A as far as automatics to manuals and how many 
to each state.There would also have been shipping documents and 
customs paperwork to follow each car.
