A sticking engine cover is a common problem caused by warpage of the rear fascia. The cover is adjustable by loosening the hinge nuts and repositioning the cover as far forward as possible. If this does not solve the problem the cover can easily be opened by one person by doing the following. There is enough room at either the left or right rear corner to pull the cover up slightly with your index finger, place a wedge (a wallet works great) between the cover and fascia, than pull the release handle to release the latch.
