VIN Check digits

After posting the message below, I sat with Excel for 15 minutes or
so and came up with a crude template that performs this function. I
still would prefer to see a web-based solution just so that it can be
made available to more people.
I've only run a few VINs through it, but it seems to work correctly.
Try it yourself and let me know.

Why would you want to calculate a check digit, you ask? I needed a
complete, valid VIN number to check the title history of a DeLorean
at http://www.carfax.com, and all the seller knew was the last five
digits of the VIN. By using the formula provided by Rob Lamrock, I
was able to calculate the check digit and get the VIN report I needed.
Comments, questions welcome.

Is there someone out there in DML-land that can create 'something
that can calculate a check digit? I'd prefer something in Excel, or
a web-based solution so that it could be used on any operating
system.
Email me privately if you have an interest and the ability to try this.
