The PRV-6 from the Volvo 260 has a few interchangeable parts. Unfortunately the B-28F version used in the DeLorean has an extremely low failure rate of all the internal parts, therefore keeping an old engine around just for spare parts does not sound practical, not to mention that virtually all of the DeLorean engine parts are readily available. The PRV engine in the 78 Volvo is either a B-27a or B-28A, the configuration of this engine is incompatible with the DeLorean engine bay. Additionally, both of these engines had camshafts that wore out prematurely. A guy at work is selling a 1978 Volvo 262 Bertone, out of curiousity I took a peek under the hood and the engine in there appears to be a PRV V6. Thursday I first saw it and even the air filter housing looked like DMC, then Friday I brought my DMC shop manual to work and took another look and sure enough much of the engine looks identical. Have I found a PRV V6? If I purchased this car just for the engine would it be useful in a D? [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
