I HAVE JUST INSTALLED A NEW DELCO REMY ALTERNATOR ON MY 81 DMC. THE OLD ONE ON IT ONLY HAD THE HEAVY LEAD WIRE HOOKED UP AND DID NOT REGULATE THE CURRENT, THUS BURNING IT UP. IN INSTALLING THE NEW ONE WITH BOTH WIRES IT OPERATES AND CHARGES CORRECTLY, BUT IF I TURN THE KEY OFF IT KEEPS RUNNING. THE DASH ELECTRICAL TURNS OFF, AND THE RELAY IS CLICKING. IF I REMOVE THE SECOND MONITORING WIRE [THINNER ONE] OFF THE ALTERNATOR IT WILL CHARGE AT FULL LOAD, AND WILL TURN OFF WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED OFF. I AM TOLD TO CHECK THE DIODE? DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE AN ANSWER FOR ME? TRYING TO GET ON THE ROAD THIS WEEKEND BUT NEED TO RESOLVE THIS ONE. MAHALO, JOHN
