Other carmakers' lack of desire to build gull-wing cars is just because they don't want to bother with them or don't think they would be popular or some business reason like that - not legal issues. If it weren't for the ingenuity of small, foreign, unpopular automakers, we wouldn't have DeLoreans (or my other favorite car, the RX-7). I think Hyundai is just doing something unique.
