Jon, I just went through the same thing with my spoiler and rear fascia. What I did was I went to the hardware store and bought some stainless screws at the same thread size. I then cut the heads off, and had them tig welded to a little rectangle piece of stainless steel. It matched the same size of the piece that was in the spoiler. I then carefully cut out the old ones with a Dremel tool by cutting 3 of the four sides, peeled back the rubber material, slipped in the new stainless ones in their place, and folded the rubber material back over. Tadaa!! Stainless steel replacements. On the rear fascia, I had to cut the rubber material away totally, and epoxy those stainless pieces in. It's working perfectly! If you have access to someone who can weld stainless steel, you're in good shape. The pieces I made look similar to the pieces PJ Grady offers for the wind deflectors that are underneath the car. Those replace the rusty bolts that hold up the deflectors with 3 stainless bolts welded to a single strip of satinless steel. Same concept. If anyone needs any more info, e-mail me directly. ---Dan ----- Original Message ----- From: Jonathan Miller To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, July 20, 2000 12:25 AM Subject: [DML] Front Spoiler In removing my fron fascia I broke some of the rusted out bolts on my front spoiler. Is there anyway to fix this? I only broke one or two, so it's not a huge deal, but if there's anything I can do outside of replacing the spoiler, I'd like to know.
