Gary, Failing to stop intermittently is still what we consider "bad". :-) Seriously, your brake master cylinder has failed, I had the same excitiment with my car when I first bought it. DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR. You are risking your life. There are replacements available, or I vaguely recall other DMLers that had theirs rebuilt.
