I believe I have traced my stalling problem down to a freefloating fuel baffle in the gas tank. When I removed the pump I found the fuel baffle assembly (with the tank attaching bolt and nut still attached to the pan type baffle handle) free floating inside the tank. So the bolt stud which was attached with some kind of glue or epoxy has come loose allowing the baffle to free float. My question is has anyone had any luck re-attaching this stud to the inner of the tank with a gas proof high end epoxy or the like. I'm open to ideas, it seems stupid to replace a perfectly good tank because a stud has come off inside. Any thoughts or solutions (I am leary of just getting a new tank and have this happen again) would be appreciated.
