The standard rear power antenna location is as good as it gets. The reason your 93 Volvo gets such good reception is more due to improved signal reception technology rather than the placement of the antenna. BTW I get excellent radio reception on my 90 Volvo 760 with the rear mounted power antenna. Personal comment: I personally believe that the DeLorean power antenna location is the "coolest" looking set up of any car ever!
