Brian, I have used my fog machine near my DeLorean with no apparent ill effects. I wash the car well afterwards just to be safe. Often there is a scent added to the chemical that makes the fog. (Mine smells like vanilla). After I have used it, there is a lingering smell of vanilla in the interior. A little Fabreze sprayed on things got rid of that. If you are going to be outside, the fog dissipates pretty quickly. If inside, they won't be able to use the machine much or you won't be able to see anything. My bigger concern would be the open doors all night. Are you going to be with the car or is the event organizer going to provide security? When my car was used a few months ago at a BTTF themed Xmas party, the guests took the open doors as an invitation to sit in the car and have their pictures taken. Unfortunately, a couple of poorly aimed rear ends broke the arm rest extension on the driver's side. Happy ending: I had rented my car to a production company who was hired to stage the event and they had an insurance rider on the car. I had the check for repairs within the week. (Be sure to inspect the car before leaving the event and if there is damage, point it out to those in charge.)
