The most common problem concerning engine performance is problems in the fuel enrichment circuit. The fact that you had to adjust the air fuel (CO) mixture screw to make the engine run is a clue to an enrichment problem. Check to be sure that the frequency valve is buzzing continuously during the engine warm up phase.
