MTL means "metal"...as in metal tape, in the "Old Days", when they were still trying to get the very best reproduction from tape decks, there used to several types of tape, "ferric"...cheap, "metal"...bit better..and "chrome" the ultimate...mind you I couldn't tell the difference between any of them...I wouldn't worry about it. None of them come close to CD quality. Whilst we are on the subject of DeLorean tape players...a chap from Northern Ireland told me recently that more of the radios/tape players "went over the fence" at Dunmurry that were ever fitted in the cars!..He said the standard practice was for them to be put in "black bags" and hung on the wire fence surrounding the factory, where they would be collected on the way home! I 'm sure its not true.
