We see this condition all the time, it's one of those "some cars do it and some don't". Because of the extremely low profile and wide track suspension of the DeLorean the Lotus engineers squeezed every bit of steering lock space to increase the limited turning radius. The solution to the problem is easy. When turning the steering wheel to its right or left limit simply back the steering wheel limit, end, position and there will be no tire rubbing.
