A SS Shift plate would do little for me (crappy automatic) but I'd love to see the entire console piece redone... I think steel would be a little much though, it would get real hot, and could reflect sun and be very distracting. I think a nice contoured single-piece fiberglass section could be created that would give the center console a sleek, flowing appearance, rather than the 3-piece chunky look it has now.... This could probably be done without removing any of the existing parts, simply a "cover" of sorts... The armrest/ashtray/candy dish would probably have to be removed because it sits too high, but the rest of the console has that "cavity" that something a little cooler could fit into.... (and protect the parts underneeth.. ) Yeah, that's the ticket, a console cover... it's just an extra perk that it looks better than what's under it... ;) I'd like to use fiberglass replacements for all of the hard-vinyl-shrinkwrapped parts in the car.. they look old and tacky. Especially the dash and rear-trim pieces... ick! Sorry, didn't mean to ramble ... Anyone know a good fiberglasser in Oregon ? :) - Dave
