Joe, et.al, I believe the Delorean also suffers from a mechanical design problem WRT the electrical charging system. That being that the ratio of the size of the crank shaft pulley to that of the alternator is suspect. [Ever notice the lights dim at night when the RPMs come down?] The low RPM of the alternator at idle doesn't allow enough juice to be output. Consequently, the alternator I have for sale (which was my back up alternator) _is_ a GM alternator I had rewound for 140 Amp service and uses an undersized pulley to help out with the low RPM response. I paid $140 to have this GM alternator rebuilt this way for my D. I still have it if any body wants it. If you still have an original D or M brand product in your delorean... seriously consider this one. You'll need the mount and harness adapter, but it _will_ solve that annoying charging problem. -Michael x4875 DMC Joe wrote: > FYI The new Delco alternator now being offered by PJ Grady and DeLorean > Services is rated at hefty 105 Amps.
