[DML] Over-valuing our D's/repair costs

Group,
I agree with sweaty eddy! As a general rule, people are asking TOO
much for their cars, and perhaps forgetting what the market is saying they
are worth. I have seen post after post about buying a D for $20,000 is the
only way to avoid problems. A friend of mine bought a D for $17,000 and
worked for ever to keep that car running. Another bought a D for $10,000,
and has only put about $1,000 back into it. Perhaps these are extreme cases,
but they are true. Our cars are ONLY worth what certain individuals are
willing to pay. Be it $2,000 or $75,000. We own specialty cars. In my
experience with DeLoreans, you can easily get a nice DeLorean with little
trouble for $14,000. If not...YOU ARE PAYING TOO MUCH!!! Any one who would
pay $14,000 for a DeLorean (or any car for that matter) that needs lots of
work is throwing their money out the window, and succumbing to the whims of
the seller. Also, where are these astronomical repair costs coming from. Do
any of you work on your D's yourself. Do you all just settle for the highly
exorbitant prices of some parts and repair shops? I would be very interested
in knowing. I am not criticizing any of you, just generally curious what the
hype and "big deal" is!
Regards,
Sean
