We have mapped out a fun and scenic route for Friday's driving tour at the DeLorean Car Show in Cleveland. We still need to test the directions to make sure they are simple enough to follow. Once they are tested I will submit the directions (and this message) for Ken Koncelik to post on the Car Show web page (www.deloreancarshow.com). Here are some important notes for those who want to come along: DeLoreans and non-DeLoreans will be welcome on the tour. To help you judge your position, the directions will include stopwatch and trip odometer readings for each turn. The drive through a strange city will be less stressful if you have a stopwatch and/or a working trip odometer. The route is just over 50 miles long. Including the planned stops, the entire tour will take about five hours. About 1.5 hours of that are driving. It involves city, park, and highway driving, so make sure your cooling fans are functioning. Every car should have at least two people: a driver and a navigator. We will supply an audio cassette which gives fun fact and the directions, so IN THEORY you could complete the tour solo. But I won't guarantee it. Anyone who would prefer the narration & directions on a Compact Disk should contact me in advance by Email. The same goes for people who have neither a cassette player or CD player in their car (we can arrange for a portable tape player). The tour will include a stop at NASA Glenn Research Center. To get in, you need to pass through a security gate. If the driver is an American citizen, he/she only needs to show their driver's license. If the driver is not an American citizen, he/she needs to show their passport. If you have any questions, please contact me. - Mike Substelny VIN 1280, 7 years
