I didn't really buy my Delorean as an investment, although I do want it to keep it's value. I have no problems with the way I went about the purchase/repair, having bought a $12k car and paid for enough repairs to satisfy the $20k-Delorean "D20" theory. :-) The way I see it, I'm going to want customizing/repairs done on almost any car I would get. In the case of my DMC, I get to drive a car with the confidence that comes from it having been recently inspected/serviced by a reputable expert (DMC Houston). Plus, I got to pick the things that got fixed and how I wanted them fixed. I was disappointed with the number of defects in my newly-acquired car when I bought it, but now I'm quite pleased with the eventual results.
