Jim, Don't worry about the door heights, I don't think there is a single DeLorean that has both doors open to the same height. What controls this is the shims in the door top that align the door with the body, that is the important part. As far as the rubber strips being goo, I am assuming you are aware of their approximate sixe. I used two layers of 1/2" foam tape to get my T-Top to the right height. Based on the crudity of the fiberglass job under there you will need to experiment with the height for your car. When you get the new tape in place the door won't rub anymore.
