Many of the first generation owners remember when DOA was young, and DeLorean Motor Club of America went out of print. Many owners were left wondering what to do with their cars. Along came a DeLorean supplier called Scientific Auto in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. He published one newspaper on the car, technical articles, etc., etc. He was in business 15 years ago, mid 80's. Someone who knew this guy told me he worked at DMC Irvine. He was touted as a "Expert" on the car and he knew how everything worked etc. He even boasted his MENSA credentials in the DeLor-tech paper he wrote. He was a real performance enthusiast. He sold cars that had the turbo, single and twin set up. He even went as far as designing a performance exhaust for the DeLorean. The EPA found out that he was removing the Catalytic Converters on the DeLorean, and they went looking for him. Needless to say he is no longer in business. A poem. Diving an elegant car... There once was a man from New Or-le-an He loved to drive his De-Lorean. He had room for his ass and a gallon of gas, He liked to show off and step on the gas. He looked in the rear view, Saw the blue lights flash. He realized that his ego finally got em. There once was a man from New Or-le-an He loved to drive his De-Lorean. He took it easy, And didn't look cheesy. To those who wish they had one. So from then on the car behaved so graceful And he didn't look so distasteful. He wished he knew then ... what he knows now ... but now he knows better And shows the rest of us how. There is a Small person inside us Who wants the world to stand behind us. To say "Mine is better than..." or "Mine is too..." proves your ego has the best of you.
