Hi David. I have been going through that process as well. I have a DeLorean that has been sitting for the last 15 years. I have replaced all the hoses, wires, etc. My first suggestion would be to take out the fuel pump and see what kind of condition that rubber boot and fuel pump are in. Chances are, you are going to need to replace them. Darryl Tinnerstat has a really good deal on those types of parts. Since the fuel lines from the front of the car to the engine compartment are steal lines, you are going to want to blow them out to make sure there is no sediment in them (detach them from the engine and fuel filter first). I would also suggest dropping the gas tank and cleaning it out with acetone. All this for starters. Send me some mail sometime if you have any specific questions, I may be able to help you. Maybe we can trade tips back and forth. Good luck!! Dave -----Original Message----- From: David L. I have been looking at buying one of these D's that are around which have not been used in years as basically a project car. I'm not real familiar with the process of flushing a fuel system and checking for corrosion by old gasoline, and I wonder if anyone out there is. How long and costly is a service like that? It's not something I would presently be comfortable doing myself.
