As for du hast, it means > "you hate" as taken from the entire verse which reads, > "you" > "you hate" > "you hate me" > "you hate me to say, that i did not obey." > > if you ever get your hands on the new cd with that song, check out the > tracks at the end. A few have been done again by ramstein in english, > including du hast. This music is awsome delorean driving music. > > chip > phoenix, #1230 Stian and Chip! Being a german fellow, I can say that both of you are right! The german text of the song can be interpreted in different ways. The reason for this is that the german words for "have" and "hate" are pronounced identical and written nearly identical: "hast" and "hasst". I believe the authors of this song intended to leave the listener in this kind of uncertainity. The english version of this song is obviously not the exact translation of the german version. I will not post the german text here, but here is a link to a fanpage, where you should find it - in case you are interested... http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Pines/9332/ramm.htm After this lesson in german language, I think we should close this thread and speak deLorean... bis bald, Ralf
